Transcriptions around Johann-Sebastian Bach works
Taking Bach works up is always a big challenge, especially for young musicians but his splendid repertoire and his unique musical idiom offer an inexhaustible source to make transcriptions.
We focused on Bach works since we were confident that our instruments could express a true frame of his works without getting out from Bach proper idiom whose beauty seduced us very deeply. Definitely, it’s a great chance to play such a wonderfull music for recorder players!
Numerous transcriptions were achieved those last 10 years for ensembles of 4 recorders but very few for 5 since Bach’s music for keyboard or scoring was mainly written for 3 or 4 parts. Our unusual and original consort of 5 players allowed us to find out such works written in 5 parts quite never heard before in such a setting.
