A Romancero is a collection of poems called romances where small narratives shape a grand story. Tales of women and men who, through the twists and turns of life, experience love and its torments. Here, cycles of melodies intertwine to create a musical mosaic that organizes the works into four chapters: passion, betrayal, comfort, and loss. Like a tale, “Romancero” is an invitation to explore the secrets of these emotions through music.

The body of works comprises a large majority of unpublished arrangements as well as original pieces where composers who left their mark on 20th-century Hispanophone music come together, weaving the thread of passionate poetry from the Spanish romanticism of Isaac Albeniz to the modernity of the Cuban Léo Brouwer.
